More Billionaires and Space: The Blue Origin Launch

Recently, more billionaires have been investing in space exploration. A current example is Jeff Bezos’s Blue Origin launch in mid-December. It was the company’s first successful venture since 2022. Nonetheless, it could mean some stellar prospects for humanity and science in the future…

The Blue Origin Launch’s Ten Minutes of Fame

One month after the SpaceX Starship was unsuccessful, Blue Origin had an according-to-plan launch on December 19, 2023.

THE NEW SHEPHARD ROCKET FLIGHT LASTED TEN MINUTES BEFORE SAFELY LANDING BACK ON EARTH.

There were no passengers aboard. However, the craft was carrying NASA experiments that it released into the edge of space…

The experiments aboard the Blue Origin spacecraft were supposed to be in their prior launch in 2022. A subsequent investigation revealed that the engine had overheated which caused the crash.

After, the space company made design adjustments to the nozzles and combustion chambers to remedy the issue. These changes resulted in the mission’s fulfillment.

So, what does that mean we can expect next?

Plans for Future Crewed Flights

Despite billionaires in space appearing to be a new phenomenon, the Bezos brainchild has been operating in Texas for 20 years…

Over that time, Blue Origin has had six launches with 31 passengers. Erika Wagner, one of the mission’s commentators, predicted this meant more manned flights were on the horizon…

“FOLLOWING A THOROUGH REVIEW OF TODAY’S MISSION, WE LOOK FORWARD TO FLYING OUR NEXT CREWED FLIGHT SOON.”

As for the requirements of these galactic adventures, no details have been released yet. Who knows…

Then, maybe a 10X-er could be aboard next.

Be Great,
